230 Roads Stuck in FCA; PWD Minister said, Out of 588 Cases only 121 Got Approval

230 roads of MLA priorities are currently stuck in FCA clearance. In response to the question of former Transport Minister Bikram Singh Thakur, Public Works Minister Vikramaditya Singh kept this figure in the assembly.

Bikram Singh had asked the question that in the case of FCA, the state government should ensure that objections are raised only once in such projects so that the file does not keep rotating again and again.

In response, the Public Works Minister said that at present, if we look at all the cases other than NABARD, there are 588 cases pending approval with the Forest Conservation Act.

Of these, principal approval has been received in 156 cases and 310 cases are still pending, while final approval has been received only in 121 cases.

Vikramaditya Singh said that Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu’s government has changed the process to clear FCAS.

A private agency has been hired as a consultant and is attached to the concerned DFO and department. This has led to a spurt in cases of forest clearance.
