There may be major administrative reshuffle in Himachal Pradesh as soon as Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu returns from Delhi.

The Chief Minister has discussed with senior officers the appointment of Deputy Commissioners and Superintendents of Police of several districts. Many DCs and SPs may be transferred soon.

Many department heads can also be changed. The Chief Minister has discussed this in detail in the state secretariat till late night on Saturday. After discussion, the Superintendents of Police of Shimla and Kullu districts have been transferred.

Now other districts are also being discussed. Many IAS and IPS officers, who were kept away from important responsibilities during the tenure of the previous government, have remained close to the Chief Minister.

Many officers are seeking their appointments as DCs and SPs or directors of important departments, managing directors of corporation-boards or other posts. Many of these officers are even getting ministers and MLAs to do their lobbying.

Such officers are giving the argument of their neglect in the Jairam government. Many officials are even talking about associating themselves with the idea of the government. The Chief Minister’s Office is seriously consulting in this regard.

It is believed that as soon as the Chief Minister returns from New Delhi, he will hold another meeting of senior officials in this regard. In that he can decide on the appointments and transfers of DC and SP.

However, Chief Minister Sukhu has talked about not adopting the trend of sudden transfers of officers.

Despite this, there is pressure on the Chief Minister’s Office to make appointments of ministers, MLAs and officers according to the favorability of the Congress government in the districts.

The officers who are seeking important posts for themselves include the officers who held key positions in the previous Virbhadra government and are talking about their neglect in the Jairam government.

However, the second camp of officers is also trying to become an obstacle in the appointments of many such officers.
