Himachal to witness another spell of rain from May 19
Himachal Pradesh is set to witness another spell of rain from Tuesday onwards as the State Meteorological Department has issued a yellow weather warning.
Rain, along with thunderstorms and lightning, is very likely to occur in the middle and higher hills of the state on May 19. A yellow warning has been issued for the Kullu, Kangra and Chamba districts, with thunderstorms accompanied by lightning expected at isolated places in these districts.
Similarly, rain will continue to occur in the higher reaches of the state on May 20, while the weather in most parts of the state will remain dry. The centre has forecasted light precipitation in many parts of the state till May 23.
While minimum temperatures are expected to rise by 2°C to 3°C in the next few days, maximum temperatures will rise by 2°C to 5°C. Meanwhile, the weather was mostly dry across the state during the past 24 hours; however, minimum and maximum temperatures remained normal.
Maximum temperature in Shimla was 26.1°C, Dharamshala 33.1°C, Manali 26.8°C, Kangra 35.9°C, Mandi 35.2°C, Solan 33.2°C, Sundernagar 36.6°C, Kufri 22.3°C, Kalpa 24.4°C, Keylong 20.5°C, Nahan and Bhuntar 33.5°C each and Bhuntar 23.5°C.
With 37.4°C minimum temperatures, Una was the hottest place in the state, while Kukumseri in Lahaul and Spiti was the coldest, as it recorded 4.3°C minimum temperature.
