To promote electric vehicles in Himachal Pradesh, a network of charging stations is being prepared. Charging stations are to be set up at over 600 locations across the state.
At the same time, the process of setting up charging stations at 85 places in the state will start soon. The Transport Department has completed the process of land transfer at 85 places across the state.
The land here is in the name of the Transport Department. The Transport Department had issued an order to the DCs of all the districts regarding marking the place for setting up charging stations across the state.
Transport Department officials say that the coming time is the time of e-vehicle. In such a situation, it is necessary that a network of charging stations should be prepared in the state.
At the same time, the Transport Department is also replacing all diesel vehicles with electric vehicles. Significantly, Himachal Pradesh currently has around 1750 e-vehicles registered.
This includes most of the HRTC buses. There are also some small vehicles and scooters. The responsibility of setting up charging stations across the state has been given to the Energy Efficiency Service Limited (EECL) company.
