In Himachal Pradesh, weather is forecasted to remain clear in all other parts except one or two places till January 27.

According to the Meteorological Center Shimla, fresh Western Disturbance is likely to become active in the state from January 28.

Due to this, there may be rain and snowfall in the state. Its intensity will increase from January 29. A yellow alert has been issued for heavy rain and snowfall on January 29 and 30 in the middle and high hills.

There is an alert for rain and thunderstorm for low altitude and plains. People got some respite from the cold on Thursday due to sunshine in the capital Shimla and other parts.

On the other hand, traffic has been affected on more than 100 roads in the state due to snowfall in the past. At the same time, many electric transformers are also stalled in the state.

Heavy Rain-Snowfall Alert for these Districts

The Meteorological Department has issued heavy rain-snow alert for Chamba, Kangra Kullu, Mandi, Shimla, Lahaul-Spiti and Kinnaur districts on January 29 and 30.

The speed of vehicles stopped for four hours on the Bharmour-Pathankot highway. The highway was closed due to falling debris and rocks along with a heavy landslide at 10:00 am on Thursday near Khadmukh Tunnel.

After getting the information, the machinery and labor of the National Highway Management reached the spot and provided relief to the people and the drivers by getting the highway restored for vehicular movement at 2:00 pm.

NH Division Chamba’s Executive Engineer Sanjeev Mahajan said that the highway has been restored for vehicles.
