Snowfall started in the high peaks of Lahaul and Manali. On Monday afternoon, snowfall started in the South Portal of Atal Tunnel.

A yellow alert has been issued for thunderstorms on March 13, 14, and 17 in Himachal Pradesh. There are also chances of rain and snowfall in many areas of the state.

Changes in the weather have been predicted due to the activation of Western Disturbance. The weather is likely to remain bad in most areas of the state till March 17.

Snowfall and rain have been warned in district Kinnaur till March 15. In view of this, Deputy Commissioner Kinnaur Torul S. Ravish told that people have been instructed not to go to high-altitude areas.

Deputy Commissioner Kinnaur said that even after warnings, many people go to the hilly areas, putting their lives at risk.


According to the forecast of the Meteorological Center, there may be heavy rain and snowfall in the district during this time period. Keeping this in view, all citizens and tourists should not do trekking in high-altitude areas. Also stay in safe places in your homes.
