Praveen Rawat of Mandi district has been awarded the National Award for Painting “City of Gold”. This painting of Praveen Rawat, displayed in the National Art Exhibition 2023 organized by the State Museum, Shimla, was selected for the National Award. For which he has been given an amount of Rs 21 thousand and a memento.

Painter Praveen Kumar belongs to Pesta village of Balh tehsil of Mandi district. Due to his inclination towards painting, Praveen goes on filling the colors of his imagination on the blank canvas.

Praveen Rawat told about the prized masterpiece that a glimpse of Mandi city and Shivratri fair has been shown in this painting. This painting is currently on display in the State Museum, Shimla. Which will be displayed in the State Museum till 31 January 2023.

Have been Honored in the Year 2018 as well

Praveen Rawat, who holds an MFA degree from Jawaharlal Nehru Arts College Shimla and Kurukshetra University, has also been awarded the National Award in the year 2018 by the State Museum, Shimla.

Apart from this, Praveen was also selected for the National Painting Camp 2021 from Independence to Independence by Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi. Similarly, participating in the National Youth Festival painting competition of 2018, won a bronze medal on behalf of Himachal Pradesh University. Thus he has increased his pride.
