The Cabinet will Take a Decision on Closing the School, the Department has Prepared a List of Institutions

The matter of closure of 386 schools opened during the tenure of the former BJP government of Himachal may go to the cabinet. According to the education department, a proposal has been prepared and sent to the government.

In this, the 386 educational institutions opened by the Jairam government include senior secondary schools 98, high schools 131, middle schools 85, primary schools 45 and 23 new colleges, the cabinet has to take the decision to de-notify them.

Amarjit Sharma, director of the Higher Education Department, said that a list of 386 educational institutions opened during the previous government’s tenure has been prepared. The decision to de-notify these institutions has to be taken by the cabinet.

The proposal will be placed in the cabinet. The Education Department says that most of these schools are such that 10 to 15 children are studying. There are 120 senior secondary schools where commerce and science subjects have been introduced. The matter of de-notifying these schools is under process.

It may be noted that following the instructions of the Chief Minister, 513 offices were closed in the state. The matter of closure of 56 institutions is under process. Maximum 181 institutions were closed in the health department.

The government says that before closing these schools, RTE i.e. Right to Education and Student Enrollment will be seen in them.

Teachers Union Angry

Some teacher organizations are also opposing this decision of the state government. Teachers’ organizations say that they have no objection to this decision of the state government, but if these schools are closed, it will directly affect the education of the children. Final examinations of the children are to be held in February and March, in such a situation where will the children go.
