Electric Buses Will Run Soon in Una as well, Transport Department Mobilized to Complete the Project Worth Crores

HRTC's bold decision on Volvo, now only three stations will operate

HRTC is preparing to run electric buses in Una. After Shimla and Manali, electric buses will be plying on the roads of Una as well. HRTC department has gone to finish this project.

Buses will run on the roads in a hi-tech manner. For this, the Transport Department has also approached renowned companies of the country regarding the capacity and other techniques of these buses.

After studying all this work, suitable electric buses for Himachal will be put on the roads. Of course, their cost is high, yet keeping in view the convenience of the general public, the services of these buses will be given to the passengers.

The government’s interest in including electric buses in the HRTC fleet has been shown by Mukesh Agrihotri, who recently became Deputy CM. Showing seriousness in this matter, he has also issued instructions to the department to take necessary action.


Under this action, trial of electronic vehicles is also being taken. The department is now engaged in preparing departmental framework for running electric buses in other districts of the state as well.

Its proper details are being prepared as to how many capacity buses have to be purchased and on which routes the buses have to run. Due to this, Transport Department MD Sandeep Kumar visited Una district on Tuesday.

He also outlined the possibilities of running electric buses in Una district. For this, he has also issued instructions to the officers to prepare a blueprint, whose report has also been sought soon. Effective action has been started on priority basis as it is the district area of Deputy CM.
