The wish of the people of the state and the tourists coming to Himachal Pradesh to see snow is about to be fulfilled. Snow flakes will fall in the higher mountain areas from Saturday, while it will rain in the plains.

According to the Meteorological Department, the weather will be bad in the state from January 10 to 12. The lowest temperature was -9.3 degree Celsius in Keylong. Due to the activation of Western Disturbance, there is a possibility of breaking of dry spell in the plains of Himachal.

The Meteorological Department has expressed the possibility of rain at some places in the plains of the state, Bilaspur, Hamirpur, Kangra and Una.

It has forecast fresh snowfall in the higher reaches of Solan, Shimla, Sirmaur and Mandi in the medium to high altitude areas and rain in the lower areas. There is a possibility of snowfall on the higher peaks of Kullu, Lahaul-Spiti, Kinnaur, Chamba and Kangra in the higher altitude areas.

70 Roads-Two NH Closed

Due to snowfall in the high mountainous areas of the state, problems have increased. Currently 70 roads and two NHs are closed in the state. At the same time, a lift drinking water scheme is also stalled.

In this maximum number of roads are closed including 36 in Lahaul-Spiti, 28 in Udaipur sub-division and 65 roads including one in Spiti sub-division, while NH-505 from Gramphu to Losar, NH-03 from Darcha to Sarchu are lying closed.
