Tarna Devi Temple is also known as Shyama Kali temple.  It is devoted to Goddess Shyama Kali believed to be an embodiment of Goddess Parvati. This temple is built by Raja Syama Sen in the 17th century. This temple has beautiful paintings of Gods, Goddesses. The temple can be reached by climbing over 305 stairs from the main market of Mandi.

The presence of this divine temple at the top hill gives it a marvellous look and it attracts thousands of people to visit it. When we look down from the hill top of Tarna Hills we will get the feel that Maa Tarna is keeping an eye on the town of Mandi as we will get the complete view of the town from there. We can reach this temple via two ways. The first one is through stairs and the second is via motor able road. The road to reach the temple is stiff with dangerous blind curves. Apart from this there is another idol which is of Mahishasuramardini. It is believed that if you make prayers to Ma Kali with pious mind then wishes comes true.This temple is famous in Himanchal pardesh. Puja of Ma Kali is done every day by the priests of the temple.
