Shimla: There is a possibility of rain and snowfall in some parts of the central and high hills of the state on December 12. According to Meteorological Center Shimla, the weather is expected to remain clear in all parts of the state from 13 to 17 December.

There is a possibility of rain and snowfall in some areas of eight central and high hill districts of the state, Shimla, Solan, Sirmaur, Mandi, Kullu, Chamba, Kinnaur and Lahaul-Spiti on Tuesday.

The weather will be clear in the plain districts of Una, Bilaspur, Hamirpur and Kangra on Tuesday. On Monday, there was sunshine with light clouds in the capital Shimla. The weather remained clear in other areas including Dharamshala.

Chances of rain and snowfall for two days in eight districts including Shimla

Shimla: The weather will be clear in all areas of the state on Monday. There are chances of rain and snowfall at some places on 12th and 13th December.

The weather is likely to change in the central and high-hill districts of Shimla, Solan, Sirmaur, Mandi, Kullu, Chamba, Kinnaur and Lahaul-Spiti. There will be sunshine in the plain districts of Una, Bilaspur, Hamirpur and Kangra. Clear weather is forecast in the entire state from December 14.

The weather remained clear in all areas of the state on Sunday. Maximum temperature in Una was 25.2, Kangra-Sundernagar 23.0, Chamba 23.3, Solan 22.7, Bhuntar 21.5, Nahan 21.1, Dharamshala 21.0, Mandi 18.8, Shimla 15.7, Dalhousie 13.2, Manali 12.9, Kalpa 12.1. and Keylong recorded 5.7 degrees Celsius.

On the other hand, on Saturday night the minimum temperature was minus 4.6 in Samdo, minus 1.8 in Kalpa, 0.2 in Manali, 0.5 in Bhuntar, 1.1 in Sundernagar, 2.0 in Mandi, 2.4 in Solan, 1.2 in Narkanda, 3.5 in Chamba, 4.4 in Una, Kangra 5.6 degree Celsius was recorded in Shimla, 6.1 degree Celsius in Shimla and 7.2 degree Celsius was recorded in Dharamshala.

A total of 343 cadets passed out from Indian Military Academy, Dehradun

Shimla: As soon as they took the last step in the Indian Military Academy (IMA), 343 youth along with 14 Himachalis became part of the Indian Army. Along with these, 29 foreign cadets from 12 friendly countries also passed out.

Sri Lanka’s Chief of Defense Staff (CDS) General Shavendra Silva took the salute at the parade. The parade started with the markers call at 8.53 am on Saturday morning.

Among the 343 cadets who passed out from the Indian Military Academy (IMA) and became lieutenants, the maximum number of 68 cadets are from Uttar Pradesh. At the second position, 42 cadet officers have been made from Uttarakhand.

This is a big leap for Uttarakhand in providing military officers. The parade started at 8.53 am with the markers call in the beautiful campus of IMA.

The cadets enthralled everyone in the audience with a spectacular march past. When the young army officers were taking their last steps, flowers were being showered on them from helicopters from the sky.

After participating in the Peeping and Oath Ceremony held after the parade, all the Gentleman Cadets became Lieutenants in the Army.

On this occasion, Western Command GOC Lieutenant General Manoj Kumar Katiyar, IMA Commandant Lieutenant General VK Mishra and a large number of military officers and family members of the cadets were present to encourage the young bravehearts.

Sri Lankan CDS General Shavendra Silva, who joined the IMA as a parade inspector, started his address with ‘Namaskar’ in Hindi. He talked about the cooperation that Sri Lanka gets from India.

Appreciated the instructors and cadets for the excellent parade. He said that after being selected among thousands to reach the academy, these selected youth have molded themselves as officers through rigorous testing.

Being an officer in the army is challenging. Because commitment towards the motherland and people is required.

Maintaining the behavior expected of subordinates is even more challenging. Sharing success with the team and facing failure head-on is the hallmark of a true leader. In case of war and peace, we will have to work with different strategies.

World’s second largest ropeway will be built in Shimla

Shimla: The country’s first and the world’s second largest ropeway will be built in Shimla, the capital of Himachal Pradesh. A 13.55 km ropeway will be built from Tara Devi to Sanjauli in Shimla. Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri said this while talking to journalists at the Secretariat on Friday.

The Deputy Chief Minister said that we are going to start this ropeway soon. Earlier, a 32-kilometer-long project was built in America, after this now the world’s second largest ropeway is being built in Shimla.

He said that the length of this eco-friendly project is 13.55 kilometers, in which three lines and 13 stations will be built. There will be three lines: Red Line, Green Line and Blue Line.

Rs 1555 crore will be spent on this ropeway project. For the project, a tie-up is being made with NDB, whose headquarters is in China. The state government will have 20 percent stake in this and 8 percent will be loan and 72 percent grant.

Mukesh Agnihotri said that the DPR of this project has been prepared. This project does not require e-clearance and requires forest clearance.

The Deputy Chief Minister said that the ropeway will have a service of two to three minutes. Among the ropeway stations, 13 stations will be built including Tara Devi, Tuti Kandi Parking, ISBT, Lift, Secretariat, Sanjauli, IGMC, Old Bus Stand, Ice Skating Ring, and 103 Near Hotel.

The Deputy Chief Minister said that the amount asked by the Corporation for the ropeway has been made available. The first phase of the project will be started in two and a half years, while the project will take five years to complete.

Mukesh Agnihotri said that after the completion of Tara Devi-Sanjauli Ropeway, the world’s largest project of 38 kilometers from Parwanoo to Shimla will be made. Shimla-Parwanoo project will be set up for Rs 6800 crore.

The first project of NABARD is the Baglamukhi project, a target has been set to complete it by March.

Feasibility report Gaggal airport expansion rejected

Shimla: The Tourism Department has rejected the techno-economic feasibility report prepared for the expansion of Kangra’s Gaggal Airport. It was created by WAPCOS, an agency of the Government of India.

In this, the total cost of building the airport is said to be more than Rs 10,000 crore, while many flaws have also been found in it. The Tourism Department has asked the agency to return it and work again.

On the other hand, it has now been decided to seek opinion from IIT Roorkee on this big project. After this report was submitted by WAPCOS, a meeting was held in the Tourism Department.

The technical people of the department itself have removed many flaws in it. This report is not matching with the ground situation on many technical aspects ranging from drawing, cross section and plan. On top of that, the cost of the project is said to be more than Rs 10,000 crore.

According to the state government’s own assessment, this much expenditure will not be incurred here. The state government also had to talk to the Airport Authority of India based on the DPR prepared after this report.

Since the project of expansion of Gaggal Airport belongs to the brownfield category, the Airport Authority of India will also invest money in this project. However, for this the DPR must be feasible.

The project is nearing the land acquisition stage and the state government has asked DC Kangra to finalize the R&R plan. For this, ADM Kangra has been appointed registrar. A committee has also been formed.

Along with the land acquisition, there will be a dialogue with the Government of India as per the DPR. The biggest challenge in this project is the Majhi Khad, over which the airport will be constructed by placing a lentil. Due to this reason, there is a danger of the cost also increasing.

The land acquisition cost itself was earlier estimated to be up to Rs 2000 crores, but now it can go up to Rs 3000 crores. A lot will depend on whether the cost of land acquisition in the final report will be based on circle rate or some other formula. The scope of family is also being redefined.

The airstrip will be three kilometers long

The government aims to expand Kangra Airport and make it of international category. The land acquisition here will be completed in two phases. More than 1200 families will be affected and will be resettled elsewhere.

The runway at Gaggal Airport will be increased from the present 1376 meters to 3010 meters. After this, big planes like Boeing and Airbus will be able to land here. The Chief Minister has given Kangra the status of Tourism Capital.

Under this, Gaggal Airport is being expanded and after the completion of this project, the number of tourists in Kangra Valley will also increase. However, completing this project in difficult economic conditions is a challenge.

Himachal Public Service Commission: There will be negative marking in conductor recruitment.

Shimla: State Public Service Commission will conduct written examination on December 10 for the recruitment of 360 conductors in Himachal Road Transport Corporation. The exam of 100 marks will be held from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. About 40 thousand candidates have applied for 360 posts.

There will be negative marking in the exam. 0.25 marks will be deducted for every wrong question. In the examination conducted on the multiple-choice basis, if more than one answer is given, the answer will be considered wrong. There will be no negative marking in case of no answer.

If a question has two correct answers instead of one correct answer out of four options, then all those candidates who write any one of these two correct answers will not get the marks allotted for that question.

Public Service Commission Secretary Devendra Kumar Ratan said that without roll number, photo, identity card, entry into the examination center will not be allowed. Candidates arriving late will also not be able to appear in the examination.

Road Transport Corporation will run special buses for the examination. Candidates can collect information from the concerned bus stand in-charge in time. You will not be able to bring mobile phone, blue tooth or any kind of electronic device to the examination centre.

Legal action will be taken if this is violated. The Secretary said that the candidates should avoid any unwanted behaviour.

If any candidate is found involved in any kind of suspicious activities, strict legal action will be taken against him.

The written examination for conductor recruitment has been brought under the purview of the Himachal Pradesh Prevention of Malpractices Act 1984, hence action will be taken against the violators under the Act.

771 Posts will be Filled for JOA Librarian; Education Department Issued R&P Rules after a Long Time

Shimla: After a long wait, the state government has released the recruitment rules for Junior Office Assistant Library. Under these recruitment rules, recruitment will now be done on 771 posts. As soon as the recruitment rules are finalized, the way to fill the post has been cleared.

The educational qualification for these posts has been kept as Plus Two or Bachelor in Library Science with 50 percent marks, while there should also be knowledge of the customs and geography of Himachal.

This recruitment will also be through 50 percent direct recruitment and 50 percent batchwise. These will be Class-3 posts. Approval for 771 posts has been received from the Cabinet long ago, but due to lack of recruitment rules, the further process could not start.

There is a provision in the rules that direct recruitment will be done through Himachal Pradesh State Selection Commission. However, Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission has also been mentioned in between.

Batchwise recruitment will be done by the Director of Higher Education Department. The recruitment will start with contract recruitment. Director of Higher Education has been made the appointing authority for them. Reservation roster in government sector will also be applicable in this recruitment.

Cluster order changed, administrative control same as before

The State Education Secretary has made changes in the cluster guidelines issued on November 29, 2023. The Primary Teachers Federation had objections to some provisions of these instructions and met the Education Secretary on December 2.

Now changes have been made in these instructions. All schools in the state will have to work in a cluster system, but administrative control will remain as before. The Education Secretary has approved and the revised instructions are being issued in writing.

Kalka-Shimla rail track will no longer stop due to rain and snowfall

Shimla: Rail services will not be disrupted due to falling of trees on the Kalka-Shimla heritage track during snowfall days. The Railway Department has cut down 150 trees posing a threat to the track between Kalka and Shimla. Most of these trees have been cut between Solan and Shimla.

The Railways had marked trees to protect the track from snowfall and rain. Most of these trees were inclined towards the track. In winter, due to snowfall and rain on the heritage track, trees collapse between Shimla and Solan.

Due to this, railway service stops for several days. Thousands of tourists visit Shimla to enjoy snowfall. During this period, coming to Shimla by rail in toy train is the only means of transportation for tourists. Now railway services will not be stopped due to snowfall due to felling of trees.

Due to heavy snowfall and rain in winter, traffic in Shimla city stops for two to three days. During this period, due to closure of buses, trains remain the only means of transportation for people. People coming from Tutu, Jatogh, Taradevi, Shoghi reach Shimla in toy train.

Engine shed built at Shimla station will be repaired in two months

The repair of the engine shed at Shimla station will start soon. Railways has completed the tender process for repairing the engine shed and has handed over the responsibility to the contractor.

The engine shed will be repaired in two months at a cost of Rs 25 lakh. The size of the shed will remain the same as before. Old iron will also be used in it. This shed was badly damaged due to the disaster on 23 August.

This shed has the capacity to undertake repair work of four engine sheds. Apart from this, stream engine also stands. Due to shed collapse, only two engines are being repaired at a time in this shed. Process of recruiting 874 Patwari started, read full news

Shimla: Himachal government is going to recruit 874 new Patwari. A letter of permission for this has been sent by the Principal Secretary of Revenue to the Director of Land Records.

Out of these 874 Patwaris, 697 will be Mohal Patwaris, while 177 Patwaris will be given in settlements. District-wise breakup has also appeared in the list sent by the Revenue Department.

Out of 697 Patwaris recruited in Mohal, 39 in Bilaspur, 90 in Chamba, 71 in Hamirpur, 80 in Kangra, 25 in Kinnaur, 62 in Kullu, maximum 172 in Mandi, 45 in Shimla, 52 in Sirmaur, 7 in Solan and 53 Patwari will be recruited in Una.

Not a single post will be filled in Lahaul Spiti. Apart from this, 177 Patwaris of the settlement will be filled in only two settlement divisions. Of these, 49 Patwari will be recruited in Kangra Division and 128 Patwari in Shimla Division.

This recruitment is being done keeping in mind the vacancy till the year 2027. Now the Revenue Department will ask for an application for these posts and after that the selected candidates will be sent for 18 months training. They will get a stipend of Rs 3000 during the training.

This training is conducted by the Revenue Department in its training institute Jogindernagar. Along with this recruitment, Patwari will also recruit 16 chainmen. These will be given to the settlement only.

It is worth noting that the process in Himachal is that first selection for these posts is done from among the applicants and after that only the selected candidates are given this training.

The Revenue Department had also taken a decision to include Patwari in the state cadre, but later it was withdrawn. However, will the newly recruited Patwaris come in the district cadre or the state cadre? A decision is yet to be taken regarding this.

10 stoppages closed on the World Heritage Kalka-Shimla track, Railways gave this argument

Shimla: According to Railways, as of 3:45 am, express train 52457 running from Kalka to Shimla is no longer stopping at Kanoh, Kaithlighat, Shoghi and Taradevi stoppages. This train reaches Shimla at 8:55 am.

At the same time, when this train leaves from Shimla for Kalka at 10:55 am, it does not stop at six stops on the return journey namely Kaithlighat, Kumarhatti, Sanwara, Koti, Gumman and Taksal. This train is used mostly by local people for Hills Queen Shimla.

According to Railways, this train returning from Shimla reaches Kalka at 4:35 pm. This train has been given connectivity with Ekta Express.

Ekta Express departs for Bhiwani, Haryana at 4:55 pm. According to Railways, tourists are getting convenience from this. Apart from this, due to elimination of stoppages the timing of the train has also reduced by about 15 minutes.

People upset due to end of stoppage

Local people are upset due to non-stoppage of trains at Kanoh, Kaithlighat, Shoghi, Taradevi stoppages on Kalka-Shimla heritage track. After Kaithlighat, the morning express train from Kalka is now stopping at Jutogh railway station.

Kanoh stoppage falling in between has now been abolished. Most of the people here are dependent on railway service. There is no road connectivity at a distance of six kilometers of Kanoh station.

Among other stations, a large number of people travel to Shimla by rail in the morning hours for treatment, administrative work and mostly for milk supply. Due to the end of the stoppage, the general public is facing huge problems in transportation.

There are 18 railway stations between Kalka and Shimla.

There are a total of 18 stations on the Kalka-Shimla Heritage Track. These include Kalka, Gumman, Koti, Sanwara, Dharampur, Kumarhatti, Barog, Solan, Salogra, Kandaghat, Kanoh, Kaithlighat, Shoghi, Taradevi, Jatogh, Summerhill and Shimla.

Toy trains used to be stopped at all these stations, but the stoppages of many trains have been abolished by the Railway Department.

Stoppages have been eliminated on Kalka Shimla Heritage Track to reduce the timing of toy trains and to increase further connectivity of trains.

The number of passengers at these stations is less. If there is demand from people then trains will be stopped at these stations.

Center released Rs 200 crore to Himachal, now pending roads can be built

Shimla: The Central Government has released an installment of Rs 200 crore for Himachal under the Pradhan Mantri Gramin Sadak Yojana (PMGSY). This amount is to be spent in the construction work of roads pending in Phase-2.

The next installment will be released by the Central Government after 80 percent of the amount is spent in road construction. The Public Works Department has invited tenders for the construction of roads.

The construction work of roads under Phase-2 in Himachal Pradesh was pending for a long time.

According to the Public Works Department, there were many roads where people’s private land was coming in the way. Work on many roads was stuck due to mutual disputes. Forest clearance was also not obtained for many roads.

Public Works Department officials talked to the people and transferred the land to the department. After this the matter was sent to the Central Government. Now the Center has released money to the government.

Engineer-in-Chief of Public Works Department, Ajay Gupta said that Rs 200 crore has been released under the Pradhan Mantri Gramin Sadak Yojana.

Villages with population of 250 will be connected with road facilities. Under Phase-1 in the state, 500 villages were connected with road facilities. In Phase-2, villages with population of 250 were connected with road facilities. Now the remaining village with population of 250 is to be connected with this facility.

New roads will be built in Phase-3 – The Central Government has started Phase-3 under the Pradhan Mantri Gramin Sadak Yojana. Under this scheme also, amount worth crores has been sanctioned to Himachal. Its installments will start coming after the completion of the formalities.

Chances of rain and snowfall for three days in Himachal

Shimla: There are chances of rain and snowfall in Himachal for three days. Due to the activation of Western Disturbance, the weather will remain bad in Himachal for the next three days from Wednesday and on November 9, a yellow alert has been issued for lightning and thunderstorms.

According to Meteorological Center Shimla, there is a possibility of rain and snowfall for three days in some parts of the state. During this period, there will be thunder and lightning in some parts.

On Wednesday, there may be light rain and snowfall at isolated places in the central and high mountainous areas, while on November 9, amid the yellow alert, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain and snowfall at some places in the central and high mountainous areas. The same sequence will continue on November 10 also.

Due to this, the average maximum temperature in the state is likely to fall 3 to 4 degrees below normal from 9 to 11 November. At the same time, the average minimum temperature is likely to fall 1 to 2 degrees below normal, which will further increase the cold.

The minimum temperature in Keylong on Tuesday was 0.1, while the maximum temperature was 30.8 in Una, while the maximum temperature in the capital Shimla was recorded at 19.8 degrees Celsius.

Himachali-in-Bangalore Group celebrates ‘Himachali Sangam 2023’

Shimla: The Himachali community in Bengaluru organized a program ‘Himachali Sangam 2023 – Bengaluru’ in collaboration with ‘Goyal Group, Haryana Group’ and ‘24 Mantra Organic’ on November 4.

More than 500 Himachalis living and working in Bengaluru participated in the event. The gathering brought together people of all age groups, from children to the elderly, to celebrate their rich cultural heritage.

Hundreds of posts vacant in animal husbandry; Increasing workload on employees

Shimla: Many posts of various categories are vacant in the Animal Husbandry Department. To fill these posts, the Animal Husbandry Department has sent a proposal to the government. In such a situation, the Animal Husbandry Department is waiting for permission from the government.

Shimla-Amritsar air service will start from November 16

When the air flight from Shimla to Amritsar starts, a 48 seater aircraft of Alliance Air will take off. Alliance Air flight from Amritsar reaches Bhuntar airport from a month ago with more than 40 passengers and considering the air pressure from here, there is a provision to take a maximum of 30 passengers to Amritsar. Tourists reach Rohtang to see snow
