A day after the Supreme Court refused to stay the disqualification of the six rebel Congress MLAs from the assembly, chief minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and Pradesh Congress Committee president Pratibha Singh are camping in Delhi to decide on candidates for the four Lok Sabha seats and to deliberate on nominees for the six assembly seats that will go to the polls simultaneously on June 1.

Air service is starting on the Dharamshala-Chandigarh air route from April 2. Airlines company Indigo is starting these flights. These flights will operate three days a week on Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday.

Now Himachal government will pay the arrears with the new formula, Secretariat Employees Union gave the formula to the Finance Secretary

Shimla: Before implementing the code of conduct for the Lok Sabha elections, the Himachal government will issue orders using a new formula to pay the arrears of pay commission and dearness allowance.

Discussion regarding this is going on in the Finance Department and soon it will be finalized and the file will be sent to the Chief Minister. Finance Department Principal Secretary Devesh Kumar has also said that the new formula will be finalized soon.

It is noteworthy that on March 4, the state government had issued a notification to pay the arrears of New Pay Commission and Dearness Allowance, in which 1.5 percent arrears were to be paid in March and 0.25 percent arrears were to be paid every month from April 1st.

The employees had opposed this formula, due to which the order had to be withdrawn a day later on March 5.

Since then the employees are waiting for the new notification. On the other hand, President of Secretariat Services Employees Federation Sanjeev Sharma along with his other officials met Principal Secretary Finance Devesh Kumar on Tuesday.

The employees have given a memorandum to the Finance Secretary, in which it has been said that those who have arrears up to one lakh, the government should pay five percent every month and those who have arrears up to two lakh, the government should pay four percent every month.

The government should pay three percent every month on arrears amounting to more than this.

There is also a suggestion that the state government can give a lump sum installment of Rs 50,000, but the formula should not be based on 0.25 percent. On the other hand, the Central Government on Tuesday issued orders to give four percent more dearness allowance.

After this notification, central employees now get 50 percent dearness allowance. This is 50 percent of the basic pay, whereas the Himachal government has just increased the dearness allowance by four percent from 34 percent to 38 percent.

Now here too only 12 percent of the dearness allowance is left to be paid to the state government employees.

In the notification issued on March 2, the state government had given the installment of four percent dearness allowance, on which Rs 580 crore is to be spent for the employees and pensioners together. The formula for arrears of one installment of this dearness allowance is not being finalized yet.

  • If a person does not have documents, he can give the reason for the same and if he has any documents, then his information will have to be given. After this he can apply for citizenship of the concerned state.

  • To obtain citizenship, the person concerned must have lived in India for at least 12 months before the date of application.
  • Applicants must declare that they are renouncing the citizenship of their country of origin and now wish to make India their permanent residence.
  • The applicant will have to submit an affidavit along with other necessary documents. The format of the application form has also been released in the notification.

Who will get citizenship?

According to the Act, such immigrants coming from the three countries of Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan and following the six religions of Hindu, Sikh, Jain, Parsi, Buddhist and Christian, who have not come with valid documents, will not be considered illegal.

They will be considered eligible for Indian citizenship and for this purpose some changes have been made in the provisions of registration of foreign citizens of India. Such people will not be treated like illegal immigrants.

To avail this benefit, they will be exempted from the Foreigners Act 1946 and the Passport (Entry into India) Act, 1920 by the Central Government.

What does the Passport Act of 1920 say?

The Passport Act of 1920 prescribes that foreigners must have a passport, while the Foreigners Act of 1946 regulates the entry and return of foreigners into India.

On acquiring citizenship as per the Act, such persons will be deemed to be citizens of India from the date of their entry into India and all legal proceedings against them in respect of their illegal stay will be discontinued.

Tragic accident in Bharmour, vehicle fell into a deep drain

Car fell into ravine, two people died

When the Bolero fell into a deep drain on the Hadsar-Bharmaur road, two people traveling in it died on the spot, while another one was seriously injured. There were a total of three people in the vehicle.

The person seriously injured in the accident has been referred to Medical College Chamba after first aid in Bharmour. Post-mortem of the bodies of those killed in the accident is being conducted.

A case has been registered with the police and an investigation has been started into the detailed causes of the accident. According to the information, the vehicle coming from Balmui towards Hadsar suddenly went out of control near Darati bridge and fell into a deep drain.

As a salute, the driver Rakesh Kumar and Ashni Kumar, both residents of village Hadsar, died on the spot. The injured has been identified as Anil Kumar, a resident of village Seri.

On the other hand, SP Chamba Abhishek Yadav has confirmed that two people were killed and one person was seriously injured when the Boleri vehicle fell into the drain on Hadsar Marg.
