The Central Government today approved the project of investment of more than Rs. This approval was given in the meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi here today.

Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur gave this information at a press conference here today.

He said that an investment of Rs 2614.51 crore has been approved for creation of infrastructure for 382 MW Sunni Dam Hydroelectric Project in Himachal Pradesh by SJVN Limited, which includes budgetary support of Rs 13.80 crore from the Central Government.

Apart from this, approval has also been given for a cumulative expenditure of Rs 246 crore till January, 2022.

He informed that the project cost of Rs 2614.51 crore includes construction cost of Rs 2246.40 crore and interest during construction (IDC) amounting to Rs 358.96 crore while 9.15 crore will be financing charges (FC).

The variation in cost has been limited to ten per cent due to various reasons. Implementation of the project will lead to socio-economic development of the area. Direct and indirect employment to about 4000 persons will be generated during the construction of the project.
