To tackle the menace of lumpy virus, the Animal Husbandry Department has started carpet vaccination in the border area of district Solan. The aim of the department is that this vaccination will be completed by January 10.
So far, about 19,000 animals have been infected with lumpy virus in Solan district and about 1,650 animals have died due to this virus, but now gradually the cases are decreasing in the district.
Dr. Bibi Gupta, Deputy Director, Animal Husbandry Department, Solan said that there are about 1 lakh animals in the district, whose department has prepared a list and vaccination is being done by preparing teams of doctors and pharmacists at the village level.
