Center Approves Setting up of Ethanol Plant in Una

Shimla: The Central Government has approved the ethanol plant being set up by Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) in district Una of Himachal Pradesh.

This plant will be set up on 30 acres of land at a cost of 500 crores. Rice, sugarcane, and corn are majorly used for ethanol production. Therefore, this scheme will also prove helpful in strengthening the economy of the farmers of the region.

Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu had taken up the matter with the Centre. The raw material for this plant will be procured from districts Kangra, Hamirpur, Bilaspur, and Una.

Apart from this, this plant will provide employment and self-employment opportunities to the local people and farmers of Kangra, Hamirpur, Bilaspur, and other parts of the state.

With the establishment of this plant, about 300 people of the area will get direct and indirect employment opportunities.

Ethanol prepared from grain raw material is mixed in petrol and diesel. This will help in reducing the pollution coming out from the vehicles.

This will help in environmental protection in the state. The state will earn an annual revenue of Rs 20 to 25 crore for the state exchequer in the form of GST.

The state government has agreed to invest 50 percent equity in the project. The government will provide full cooperation to the company for setting up the plant.

Instructions have been given to the district administration that all the obstacles coming in the construction of the plant should be removed immediately.
Gram Panchayat Bhanjal of Una district has been asked to start land acquisition work for the link road within 10 days.

Ethanol is a transparent and colorless liquid. It is also known as ethyl alcohol, or grain alcohol.

This starch or sugar-based feedstock is produced from cellulosic feedstocks such as corn kernels, sugarcane, and crop waste.

Shimla: The Kiratpur-Nerchowk four-lane is directly connected to the old Chandigarh-Manali National Highway. The railway flyover is ready on the link road built from Kothipura to the four-lane Mandi Bharari bridge on the National Highway.

The vehicles going from Shimla to Hamirpur and Kangra will get direct benefit from the connectivity of the four-laning with the old National Highway. Along with this, AIIMS Bilaspur has also become closer to four-laning with the opening of the link road.

Vehicles going from Shimla to Hamirpur and Kangra will be able to reach Kothipura directly on the four-lane through this link road. Vehicles going to these districts will no longer have to pass through Bilaspur city.

Vehicles will reach Bhaged directly from Kothipura on four-lane. This will also save about half an hour of time and oil.

Also, with the commencement of this link road, AIIMS will also be closer to Fourlane. Now it will take only 10 minutes to reach AIIMS from Mandi Bharari bridge of four-lane, which used to take half an hour earlier.

In case of an emergency like an accident on the four-lane, this approach route will prove effective to reach AIIMS. On the other hand, the people of Ghumarwin, Jhanduta and Shri Nayanadevi sub-divisions of Bilaspur will also be benefitted by this.

People of these three sub-divisions will be able to reach AIIMS in less than an hour from any place.

It may be mentioned that this link road was completed long back, but the Bhanupalli-Bilaspur rail line came in between on this link near Mandi Bharari.

Railway tunnel is being constructed in Mandi Bharadi. A flyover has been built on the approach road above this tunnel, under which the train will pass.

Shimla: Under the Bhanupalli-Bilaspur-Berry railway line, the villagers have stopped tunnel number-15 work under construction in village Balh of Kothipura village panchayat.

Although the villagers have informed their various problems to the Railways as well as the administrative officials, but their problems were ignored.

Due to which these angry villagers got the tunnel work stopped. On the other hand, it has been decided to stop the work till the problems are resolved.

If the problems are not resolved, then fierce agitation will be done. On Monday, the villagers of Balh village of Kothipura panchayat staged a sit-in inside Tunnel-15.

Best time to visit Rohtang Pass

Rohtang Pass is not open throughout the year, so you cannot go here at any time. Rohtang Pass remains closed from November to April due to heavy snowfall and bad weather.

Rohtang Pass remains open in summer i.e. from May to June. During this, a large number of tourists come here. Rohtang Pass remains closed due to landslides in July, August.

Then it remains open after the end of the monsoon i.e. from September to October. Rohtang Pass is closed weekly on Sundays while it remains closed for tourists on Tuesdays. Rohtang Pass opens at 6 am and closes at 5 pm.

How to Reach by Train

Joginder Nagar is the nearest railway station which is about 103 km from Rohtang Pass and 50 km from Manali.

Trains from different cities of India arrive at this railway station through which you can reach here. From outside this station, you can take taxis or state transport buses to reach Rohtang Pass.

How to Reach by Road

Himachal Pradesh Road Transport Corporation buses ply from Manali which go to Leh via Rohtang Pass and then to Keylong.

Apart from this, HRTC, Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation, and private air-conditioned and non-air-conditioned deluxe coach buses ply here. Regular buses run from Manali to Keylong during June to October.

Shimla: A Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) bus going from Tangnu to Chirgaon in Rohru area of Shimla district of Himachal Pradesh hit a hill. 44 passengers on the bus were injured in the accident.

According to the information, the bus was going from Tangnu to Chirgaon at 7:00 am, about two kilometers before reaching Dhamwadi, the brake of the bus failed at a place called Adkuni Ghat.

As soon as the driver told the passengers about this, there was an atmosphere of shouting in the bus. The driver, immediately showing understanding, stopped the bus at some distance after colliding with the hill. Passengers have received minor injuries after the bus hit the hill.

It is a matter of gratitude that the bus did not fall into the ditch, otherwise a big accident could have happened. The injured are undergoing treatment at Primary Health Center Sandasu. Some people have been taken to Rohru Hospital.

According to the information, 55 people were aboard the bus at the time of the accident. Of these, 44 have received injuries.

Executive bus stand in-charge Chidgaon Vimlesh said that due to the promptness of the driver, a major accident was averted. He said all the people are out of danger.

Naib Tehsildar Chirgaon Saurabh Dhiman said that as soon as the information about the accident was received, the team was sent to the hospital and the spot.

Shimla: Due to the changed weather in Himachal Pradesh, after 24 years in June, the capital Shimla has got January-like cold nights. Shimla recorded a minimum temperature of 9.6 degrees Celsius on Wednesday night.

Earlier in the year 1999, on June 4, the minimum temperature of the city was 9.4 degrees. From the year 2000 to 2022, the mercury was recorded between 11 and 14 degrees.

The minimum temperature in Kalpa has also registered a decrease after the year 2013. The minimum temperature in Kalpa was 4.4 degrees on Wednesday night. Earlier in the year 2013, the minimum temperature in Kalpa was 2 degrees.

The maximum temperature recorded a decrease of 12 degrees from normal. In some parts of the state, the weather may remain bad for five days.

HAS Exam on July 27, Apply till June 14, Exam will be held in Two Phases

Shimla: The Public Service Commission has fixed the date for the preliminary examination of HAS. This exam will be held on 27th July. This exam will be in two phases. The first exam will be held between 10 am to 12 noon.

The second exam is to be held from 2 pm to 4 pm. The Public Service Commission has issued a notification in this regard on Wednesday.

After this, the Public Service Commission will set a separate date for the main examination i.e. Mains exam.

It is worth noting that Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission has already released the notification of the Himachal Pradesh Administrative Services Combined Competitive Examination 2023.

Shimla: Women pensioners already receiving pension in Social Justice and Empowerment Department, Himachal Pradesh will be given Rs 1500 per month from Indira Gandhi Mahila Samman Nidhi Scheme from July 1.

Although earlier 950, 1000, and 1150 pensions were given under Widow, Day, Ekal Nari, and other pension schemes, now Rs 1500 monthly pension will be given directly.

In the first phase in the state, the women who were getting Rs 1000 and Rs 1150 pension will now be given Rs 1500 from July 1.

In the sub-target of Himachal Day, the Chief Minister has announced to include the women of Spiti in the scheme, while other women in the age group of 18 to 59 years in the state will be included in the scheme in a phased manner.

However, these government employees, account holders, and tax payer women will not be included. Udra, Health and Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Dr. Col. Dhaniram Shandil told that in the first phase, Rs 1500 pension will be issued to women in this regard, and a notification has been issued in this regard. In the upcoming phases, other women will also be provided the facility.

In MNREGA, the Central Government gave time to Himachal, Gave Relief to thousands of Gram Panchayats

Shimla: The central government has given an extension till June 4 for data entry in the MNREGA scheme in Himachal Pradesh.

These instructions of the Central Government have been issued by the Director of the State Rural Department to all the Deputy Commissioners and Block Development Officers.

It is clear that all the data entry for the financial year 2022-23 is going to be known till 4th. After this, there will be no extra time for entry.

In the state, it is ensured that the entry of the receipt bill, certified on behalf of the state government, is registered. Entry of any new musterol shall not be declared in the previous financial year.

Fresh FTO will not be issued. Nor will there be entry of new demand. These instructions have been issued by the Director of the State Rural Development Department, Rigved Thakur.

These instructions have been issued to Project MNREGA and Project Director with mutual cooperation from Deputy Commissioner, Block Development.

It is notable that many entries ending on March 31, 2023 were not found in the entry of MNREGA for the financial year 2022-23. Due to this, the payment of university work was stopped.

In such a situation, the state government was requested to give an additional period for online data entry. The reason for this is that the central government has given time. This has brought relief to thousands of panchayats in the state.
