Midnight commotion in Mandi town; Landslide near Boys School

Shimla: A portion of the main road collapsed in the school market of Mandi City late on Tuesday night. Due to this landslide, along with the construction of the shopping mall and parking building near the boy’s school, cracks have also appeared in the road.

An atmosphere of fear has also developed among the local shopkeepers. Due to the incessant rains, if security arrangements are not made here soon, then other parts of the road may also come under the grip of landslides.

It is being told that the work of repairing the school market road is being done by the Public Works Department. At night the contractor had set up a roller on the road along the security wall of the school.

Meanwhile, due to a landslide in the middle of the night, the ground caved in and the roller also fell down on the site of the shopping mall. Along with this, there has been a landslide on the side of Diet Bhavan in the night, due to which Diet Bhavan has again become a threat.

The name of this place is tainted. Dagshai is a cantonment town in Solan district in the state of Himachal Pradesh, India. It is one of the oldest cantonment towns of Himachal Pradesh.

It is situated on the top of a 5,689 ft (1,734 m) high hill, about 11 km from Solan on the Kalka–Shimla Highway (National Highway 5).

It was established in 1847 by the East India Company by acquiring five villages free of cost from Maharaja Bhupinder Singh of Patiala.

The names of these areas were Dabbi, Badhiala, Chunnad, Jawag, and Dagshai. The new cantonment was named after Dagshai, as it was the largest of the five villages and its location was strategically most appropriate.

Earlier the Name of this Place was Daag-e-Shahi.

It is said that during the Mughal period, a person who betrayed the king was called Tag-e-Shahi, which means the royal mark.

A jail was built at this place to punish such criminals. Gradually the name of this place became Dagshai. This jail was known as Himachal’s black water at that time.

There are many Ghost Stories told

Many ghost stories are told about this place even today. According to a popular story, a prisoner in Dagshai Jail was subjected to severe interrogation and harsh punishment, due to which he died in jail.

British Major’s Wife’s Grave was in Dagshai

At the time of British rule in the country around 1909 a British Major George Weston used to live in Dagshai with his wife Mary. Major was a doctor and his wife was a nurse, but they had no children.

Distressed by this, both of them met a saint. The saint blessed both of them in the form of a talisman, after some time both of them got the good news of becoming parents. But Major’s wife died in the eighth month of pregnancy.

At that time Major buried his wife and unborn child in Dagshai and made a very beautiful tomb for them. It is said that the marble used in this tomb was imported from England.

Over time, many stories related to Mary’s tomb spread among the local people. It is said that the people living here believed that a pregnant woman who took a piece of marble from the tomb of Mary would give birth to a son.

Many people started taking marble from here in the greed of the birth of a son, due to which the beautiful structure of Mary’s tomb started deteriorating.

Due to AIIMS and Four-lane, the Price of Bilaspur land Increased up to 40 Times

online challan Kiratpur-Nerchowk four-lane

Shimla: With the construction of AIIMS and Fourlane, the land prices in Bilaspur have increased up to 40 times.

The cost of five to 10 lakh per bigha land has now reached up to two crore rupees. The land around AIIMS and Fourlane is being sold in full swing. The land along the railway line has also been sold.

In this, not only the state, people from outside states are also buying land. People are giving land at higher prices than those given by the Railways, the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI), and the Central Government.

The prices of land on the Kiratpur-Nerchowk four-lane, including Mandi-Bharadi, Jakatkhana, Dhaliar, Tunhu, Patta Kallar and Baghi-Mehla, were in the range of 25 thousand to 50 thousand per biswa before the four-lane was made. Now the prices have reached eight lakh to 10 lakh per biswa.

Before AIIMS started, the cost of land on the national highway in Kothipura was Rs 1 lakh per biswa. Now this price has become 10 to 12 lakhs per biswa.

There was no market here before AIIMS started. Even if people had sold the land under compulsion, they would have got five lakhs per bigha of land. Now the cost of the same land has increased to more than two crores per bigha.

Private price more than land acquisition of government projects

The highest compensation of 86 lakh per bigha has been received from the government in the acquisition of rail line land.

On the other hand, maximum compensation of Rs 35 lakh per bigha has been given in four lane land acquisition. In this way, there is a big difference between the government price and the private price.

More demand for land from Mandi-Bharadi to Auhar

The demand for land on the Kiratpur-Nerchowk fourlane from Mandi-Bharari bridge to Auhar is high. This is the reason why a lot of land has been sold in this area. Gobind Sagar Lake with Fourlane is situated in this area.

The restoration project of temples is to be built in this lake and water sports activities are also to be started on a large scale. Because of this, people want to take land here.

Bandla’s land prices increased from Hydro Engineering College

Due to the formation of Hydro Engineering College in Bandla Dhar of Bilaspur, the cost of land here has also increased.

About three-kilometer long ropeway is proposed from Bandla Dhar to Bilaspur. For this reason, also people are trying to buy land here.

Shimla-Mataur four-lane will also increase the land prices

Due to the Shimla-Mataur four-lane under construction, people are buying land on this four-lane. Because of this, the prices of land are increasing.

Under section 118 only a few people from outside states in the district have applied to buy land for business.

Most of the land in these areas is being bought by the people of the state itself. There is no involvement of the administration regarding the prices of the purchase and sale of land at the private level.

The DPR of 2650 km has been sent from the state to the central government. The DPR is about Rs 2600 crore and the proposal for approval on this DPR is now in the final stage.

The Public Works Department has called upon the Central Government to approve PMGSY in Himachal in the month of June so that all works related to the tender process are completed in the state during the rainy season and maintenance and construction work of these roads starts after the rainy season.

After sending the proposal to Delhi in PMGSY, a team from the Center has already visited Shimla. Initially, this team agreed to construct 600 km of roads with Full Depth Reclamation (FDR) technique.

Not only this, a training workshop has also been organized for the engineers of the Public Works Department. It may be noted that the state government has prepared a DPR of 3100 km for the third phase of PMGSY in the state. Of these, about 450 kilometers have already been approved.

The construction work of the roads which have been approved by the Central Government has also started, while about 2650 km are yet to be approved.

There is a possibility of rains in the state after June 20 and due to this, the works related to road construction could not be completed.

If these DPRs of PMGSY Phase-III are not approved in the month of June, then the state government’s proposal will be completed after the rains.

In such a situation, now the officials and the state government are constantly pressurizing the Center to approve PMGSY in the month of June itself. This is the reason that out of 2650 km, there is a possibility of getting approval for 600 km in the first part.

Chief Engineer of the Public Works Department Ajay Gupta said that all the formalities regarding Public Works Department PMGSY have been completed by the state government.

Their proposal has been sent to the Central Government. It is expected that before the monsoon, the central government will approve this scheme.
