Education Minister Rohit Thakur has called the first review meeting of the Education Department on Monday. Officers of the Elementary and Higher Education Department will be present in the review meeting of the Education Department.
Rohit Thakur said that it is his priority to provide better education to the children in state schools and also to put the project of Rajiv Gandhi Day Boarding Schools on the ground by resolving the challenges of the education department.
In the meeting of the Education Department, discussions will be held regarding the 380 educational institutions opened by the previous government after April 2022 and more than 10,000 recruitments proposed in the Education Department.
He said that due to some reason, he could not take the meeting with the officials of the education department earlier. He said that now a meeting of education department officials has been called on Monday.
In the meeting to be chaired by the Education Minister, there will be a detailed discussion on whether to close or continue about 380 institutions and a proposal will be prepared and sent to the next cabinet meeting.
Only the cabinet will take the final decision regarding these educational institutions. The Education Minister has also sought information about vacant posts of teachers, surplus staff, and student enrollment from all the schools.
In the coming days, the government may rationalize teachers of surplus schools, because there is surplus staff in educational institutions running in almost all district and block headquarters of the state. At the same time, there is a shortage of staff in schools running in rural areas.
In the meeting, any decision can be taken on the recruitment of JBT pending for many years, because the recruitment of JBT has been stuck in the state for a long time. JBT could not be recruited even once after 2017.
Because of this, more than 4500 posts of JBT have become vacant in primary schools. Similarly, in tomorrow’s meeting, the recruitment for the posts of TGT, PGT, computer teacher, vocational teacher, etc. will also be discussed. Regarding this, the education department will prepare a proposal and send it to the cabinet.
