Exemption of Solar Projects from Land Ceiling, Government has Placed Amendment Bill in Assembly

Now Pangi will be illuminated by the sun

After the announcement of Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu to make Himachal Pradesh a green state, the state government has taken a major decision regarding solar power projects.

It has been decided to exempt land sealing for these projects. In fact, the Land Ceiling Act has already given exemption for hydropower projects.

Solar projects were not included in this, whereas land is also required for solar projects. The maximum limit for holding land is fixed under the Land Ceiling Act applicable in Himachal. Only 10 hectares of land that can give two crops can be kept.

If the land is going to give one crop, then a person can hold only up to 15 hectares of land. In other circumstances, 30 acres is the maximum limit, while in Bharmour and Bada Bhangal and Chhota Bhangal, Dodar Kawar of Shimla and Pargana fifteen-twenty of Rampur up to 70 acres of land can be kept.

Exemption of solar projects from land ceiling, government placed amendment bill assembly

To keep more land than this, it is necessary to get an exemption under the Act. The repeatedly stated reasons for keeping this bill in the Vidhansabha have been that to fulfill the goal of making Himachal a green state, it is necessary to exempt solar projects from land ceiling.

On Wednesday itself, the state government has placed a bill in the Vidhansabha to amend the Land Ceiling Act.

The Word ‘Adult Daughter’ will be Added in Section-3 and 4 of the Act

The state government wants to make changes in two or three sections of the Land Ceiling Act. Its main purpose is to give daughters the right to keep land as per the limit given in the Land Ceiling Act.

For this, the word ‘adult daughter’ is being added in Section-3 and 4 of the Act. Daughters mean both married and unmarried.

However, according to the revenue records, this amendment does not have much practical effect. Because the Act cannot be implemented from the previous date and the scope of land selling has already been fixed if done from the next date, but the second part of this amendment has the name of solar projects.

Although there is a demand from the Himachal side to convert the Jammu-Bhaderwah-Kalujugasar-Makkan-Sanwal road into NH, the Central Government has not yet given any consent to this demand.

Churah MLA Hansraj had questioned the approval of the central government regarding the conversion of the Bhaderwah-Sanwal road into a national highway, but in response to this, PWD minister Vikramaditya Singh said that the road would not be approved.

Kangra Tea gets European GI Tag, big Achievement Internationally

Kangra-Tea-gets-European-GI-tag,-big-Achievement-Internationally

The tea of Himachal Pradesh has achieved a great achievement at the international level. Kangra tea has been awarded the European GI Tag. The European GI tag is given only to products that meet high standards.

Kangra tea is currently being grown in a very small area and its production is also relatively low. Despite this, the high quality of Kangra tea has earned it great respect not only for the state but also for the country.

According to experts, only a few products have got the European tag in the country. In such a situation, the inclusion of Kangra tea in this list is very encouraging for Kangra tea and tea producers.

Kangra-Tea-gets-European-GI-tag,-big-Achievement-Internationally

Kangra tea has its own special aroma and taste and because of that it got GI tag in 2005. At present there are tea gardens in the state in about 2400 hectares.

Four decades ago, there were tea gardens in an area of about three thousand hectares. From 1990 to 2002, the Kangra tea industry was at its peak and every year more than one million kilos of tea was being produced here.

Due to the efforts of the tea growers, all records of tea production were broken in 1998-99 and 17,11,242 kg of tea was produced in that year.

Due to various reasons this trend could not continue and in the last few years the figure of tea production has remained less than one million kilos.

Compared to other states, the size of tea gardens in the state is very less. The biggest advantage of the big tea garden owners in other states is that their labor is available here throughout the year at the right price.

Due to small tea gardens, labor cannot be hired for the whole year and the labor coming for some time charges a very high price.

Electricity may become Expensive in Himachal from April 1, the Government did not Increase the Subsidy

Electricity may become expensive in Himachal from April 1

Himachal Pradesh may get an expensive electricity shock from April 1. For the financial year 2023-24, the Electricity Board has received a subsidy of Rs 500 crore only.

The Congress government has not made any increase in the gratuity. In such a situation, there is a possibility of increasing the rates of electricity from April 1.

The Electricity Board has sent a proposal to the Electricity Regulatory Commission to increase the rates by 90 paise per unit. The commission will decide the electricity rates for the new financial year on 30 or 31 March.

Electricity can become costlier for domestic consumers on consumption above 126 units. The prices of supplies to industrial and commercial consumers are also expected to increase.Electricity may become expensive in Himachal from April 1

The financial condition of the board has worsened due to giving 125 units of free electricity to domestic consumers. Subsidy is provided by the government to subsidize electricity bills of domestic and agricultural consumers.

In the budget for the year 2022-23, the BJP government had given a subsidy of Rs 500 crore to the board to provide cheap electricity. It was announced during this period to give 60 units free of cost to domestic consumers.

After a few months, the BJP government made electricity up to 125 units free. In lieu of this, a monthly gratuity of 66 crores was given separately.

In such a situation, the board needed a subsidy of about 800 crores to continue the scheme of 125 units of free electricity.

If the government wanted that the electricity rates should not be increased beyond 126 units, then the board was to get a subsidy of about Rs 1100 crore.

In such a situation, it is possible that all categories of consumers may get a shock of expensive electricity in the electricity rates issued by the Regulatory Commission this week.

Mini-Secretariat-could-not-start-even-after-six-months-of-inauguration

Government offices have not yet been shifted to the Mini Secretariat building constructed with Rs 20 crore at Una headquarters.

The Mini Secretariat building was also inaugurated about six months ago during the tenure of the BJP government, but even after six months of inauguration, this building has not been dedicated to the public.

Even now the administrative work is going on in the old building only. After all, why is the administration not able to shift the government office here even six months after its inauguration?

This question is worth pondering upon however, the concerned department had completed the six-storey mini-secretariat building in record time.

But after this, the department forgot to install a fire fighting system in this building. After the said matter came to the notice of the administrative officers, a fire fighting system was also installed in the Mini Secretariat building. But even after six months of inauguration, work is going on in the building.

After all, the general public is facing problems due to this work going on at a snail’s pace. The failure of the administration is taking a heavy toll on the people and still all the work is going on in the old building itself.

Himachal government will now recruit five thousand employees under the new recruitment policy. The state government is preparing to bring a new policy for the employees.

This was stated by Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri in the House. He said that instead of outsourced companies whose contracts have expired in the month of December, contracts will be re-contracted with new companies, so that there is no impact on the system running through outsource.
