Shimla: Heavy rain alert has been issued in Himachal Pradesh for three days. According to the Meteorological Center Shimla, there is a yellow alert for heavy rain and thunderstorm on June 24 and 26 in many parts of the state.

Shimla: The central government has started work on Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana rapidly. An important meeting of officials has been called in Delhi regarding the upcoming approval.

The Public Works Department officials have redressed these objections and now the report is being submitted to the Ministry of Rural Development and PMGSY Project Director in Delhi.

Chief Engineer of Public Works Department Ajay Gupta says that the central government has given in-principle approval for the third phase of PMGSY.

Shimla: Admit cards for Joint Entrance Examination to be held on July 1 for 75 colleges affiliated to Himachal Pradesh University and Sardar Patel University Mandi have been issued.

The university has set up 52 examination centers across the state for the entrance examination of B.Ed. On July 1, the exam will be held from 10 am to 12 am.

No changes will be possible in the application form after the result is declared, so students have to rectify the errors found in the application form and admit card within the given time limit.

Education loan will be available at a one percent interest rate

Shimla: To ensure that no youth of the state is deprived of vocational education due to lack of financial resources and economic status, the state government has started Mukhyamantri Vidyarthi Protsahan Yojana.

The scheme provides education loan up to Rs.20 lakh to poor meritorious students for their higher studies needs such as lodging, tuition fees, books, and other education related expenses.

Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu said that this loan would be provided at an interest rate of one percent.

Bonafide Himachali students who have passed the previous class examination with minimum 60% marks for pursuing diploma and degree in professional and technical education such as engineering, medical, para-medical, pharmacy, nursing, law, etc. He can avail this education loan.

Apart from this, the benefits of this scheme can also be availed by doing technical courses from Industrial Training Institutes and Polytechnic Colleges and Ph.D. under recognized universities.

He will be authorized to release the first installment of fee to the institution concerned, so as to ensure that the admission process of the students is not hampered in any way, if the banks take time in releasing the first instalment. After this, this money will be reimbursed by the bank to the concerned Deputy Commissioner.

Youth eligible with income less than four lakh rupees

Such students, whose family income from all sources is less than four lakh rupees per annum and the age limit of the beneficiary is up to 28 years, will be eligible for this scheme.

Students wishing to avail benefits under this scheme can apply through the online portal by submitting all the necessary documents.

The case will be recommended by the Director, Higher Education to the bank concerned for release of the first installment of the loan to the eligible student.

First trial run of Panoramic Vistadome train was successful

Shimla: The first successful trial run of the Panoramic Vistadome train took place on the Kalka-Shimla Heritage Railway track on Tuesday. Teams of RDSO Lucknow and RCF Kapurthala jointly conducted the trial.

The RDSO special train from Kalka left at 8:05 am and reached Shoghi at 1:00 am. On reaching Shoghi, after a technical examination of the sensors installed in the train, it was dispatched towards Shimla at 1:46 pm at a speed of 22 kmph.

The special train reached Shimla Railway Station at 2:27. Trials will be held between Shimla and Shoghi for 10 days from Wednesday. The train will also be run at a maximum speed of 28 kilometers per hour.

The trial will be done by increasing the speed by 2 km per hour daily. RDSO Deputy Director Testing Susaran Tiru said that on the first day, various parameters were tested during the trial run between Shoghi and Shimla.

Deputy CME Design, RCF Kapurthala, Abhay Dogra said that the riding experience of the coach was excellent during the trial.

Regular production of RDS and Panoramic Vistadome coaches will commence after the completion of the trials.

History

The monastery was built by the Buddhist king (also known as Royal Lama) Yeshe O’d in 996 A.D. It was renovated 46 years later by the royal priest Jangchub O’d, the grandnephew of Yeshe O’d.

They were kings of the Purang-Guge kingdom whose ancestry is traced to the ancient Tibetan monarchy, and extended their kingdom from Ladakh to Mustang by building a large network of trade routes, and built temples along the route. Tabo was built as a ‘daughter’ monastery of the Tholing Monastery in Ngari, western Tibet.

According to the Tibetan calendar, Tabo Monastery was founded by a great teacher, Lotswa Rinchen Tsang Po – the king of the western Himalayan kingdom, followed by his grandfather Zangchub.

Tabo Monastery is a favorite destination for Indian scholars who wanted to learn the Tibetan language. The period between the 17th and 19th centuries saw political and religious unrest.

The monastery was rebuilt in 1975 following an earthquake in the area. A new Du-kang or assembly hall was added to this structure in 1983 in response to the growing interests of many Buddhist followers.

Trainees have also raised the demand to start direct recruitment of JBT in the state soon. On Sunday, JBT-DLED trainees demonstrated outside the Deputy Commissioner’s office, Shimla.

Trial of New Coach on Kalka Shimla Heritage Track from Today

Shimla: The trial run of the panoramic Vistadome train will start today from Shimla to Shoghi on the Kalka-Shimla heritage railway track.

RDSO (Research Design and Standards Organisation) Lucknow team reached Kalka for trial and completed the work of shifting trial equipment after rack placement at Kalka railway station as per the pre-determined schedule on Sunday.

Four coaches of the Panoramic Vistadome train will be run between Shimla and Shoghi from Monday and trials will be conducted at a speed of 22 to 28 km per hour.

The first five days will be trial with empty coaches, the next five days will be trial with weights (sandbags).

RDSO’s Joint Director (Testing) RS Tiwari said that all instrumentation preparations for the trial have been completed.

After the successful trial of four coaches starting from Monday, a special train with seven panoramic Vistadome coaches will start operating between Kalka and Shimla this year.

Shimla: Drivers will now have to pay fees at the toll plaza built at Takoli on the Nerchowk-Manali Four-lane. NHAI has started the process of deducting fee from vehicles at this toll plaza from Friday.

These operators will have to pay only a fee of Rs 320 for a year and there will be no need to pay tax on any daily or every time visit.

Land acquisition will start for Kangra airport

Shimla: The way for the expansion of Gaggal Airport in Kangra district is almost cleared. The expert group has also submitted its report to the government on the report of social impact assessment done for lengthening this airstrip.

This report is also positive. The report has been received by the Principal Secretary Tourism through DC Kangra. The state government has to accept it and with this the process of land acquisition will start again.

The work on the expansion of Kangra Airport is going on at a very fast pace. For this, the work of Social Impact Assessment was given to the Public Administration Institute, which was completed by the agency SR Asia.

This report has come within the stipulated time of two months. Apart from the Panchayat Pradhans of Gram Panchayat Gagal and Gram Panchayat Rachiyalu, two HAS officers were also appointed in this.

After the arrival of this report, the state government will take a decision on this and then there will be notification of land acquisition under section 11. The acquisition will be in accordance with the 2013 Act and will be completed in two phases.

About 1200 families will be affected by this, which will be resettled elsewhere. About 2000 crores are going to be spent on land acquisition, which will be borne by the state government.

The runway at Gaggal Airport will be increased from the present 1376 meters to 3010 metres. After this, big ships like Boeing and Airbus will be able to land here.

The most important thing in this is that for the expansion of this airport, a runway will be built on top of Manjhi Ghat. It will be a brownfield category airport, which will be expanded by the Airport Authority of India.(HDM)

Shimla: After a long wait, the National Highway has got a big benefit in forest clearance. The files of about half a dozen cases stuck in the pipeline have been cleared.

The way for the construction of four-lane has been completely cleared in Shimla-Mataur, Pathankot-Mandi, and Kalka-Shimla.

Now the process of transferring the land of the Forest Department to NHAI on these three NHs will start.

The Revenue Department will take over the front and after that further steps will be taken for the construction. Around eight NH packages were in the queue for forest clearance since the beginning of the year.

Stage one approval has been given to 2.2 hectares of forest land from Chilbagh (Hamirpur) to Bhangwar (Jwalamukhi) on the same route.

Along with this, forest clearance has been given for the construction of four-lane on 7.8-hectare land from Siuni to Rajol on Pathankot-Mandi NH. On this route, the central government has agreed to approve the part from Thanpuri to Paraur.

The matter of 16 hectares of land from Thanpuri to Paraur has been proposed to the regional office. No objection has been registered in the file that was prepared for this part and sent to the Ministry of Environment.

Due to this, it is expected that by the end of this month, approval will be given for the four-lane construction.

NHAI has also got a big relief on Kalka-Shimla NH. Here the matter of the acquisition of additional land from Solan to Kanthlighat was pending. Due to this, NHAI had expressed doubt on the possibility of getting the four-lane ready in time.

Now the central government has approved the acquisition of additional land. After this approval, the dumping site can be developed in the vicinity of Srinagar.

Along with this, approval has been received for the third part of NH from Kanthlighat to Dhalli, and from Kanthlighat to Shakral.

While the approval from Shakral to Dhalli is expected to come this month itself. After these approvals in Forest Clearance, the condition of most parts of NH has been cleared.

Economic situation will change due to the four-lane construction

NHAI RO Abdul Basit said that after the approval of the four-lane project, the next process of land acquisition and construction will be started. NHAI will pay full attention to ensure that all these national highways are completed on time.

With the cooperation of the state government, the work of converting these national highways into four lanes will be completed. After the construction of four lanes, the pace of development will increase in the state.
